San Cristobal.-The People’s Minister for Energy and Petroleum and president of Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA), Rafael Ramírez, introduced a double work shift at the gas filling plant for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Cipriano Castro, located at El Cucharo, Táchira, which will benefit 67,000 families.
"We have 39 plants nationwide and in each one we increased the operation shifts to a double, this plant for example has a capacity of filling 4,700 bottles per day, and with the double work shift we are increasing to 8,500 bottles of all kinds, "said Ramírez.
Similarly, the head of Energy said PDVSA Communal Gas has trained 10,500 “vencedores” (graduates from the Mission Ribas) to be included in the functions of filling the bottles, this effort allows 20% increase in service provision.
"This week a double shift has been put into place at plants like Antímano in Caracas, one in Maturin, one in Maracay and one in the state of Bolivar, and right now a double shift is taking place at the plant in Cumana, parallel to that collection centers are being opened. We currently have 25 centers and we have contemplated installing 14 additional ones.
These count with 1,500 and 2000 thousand cylinders; with the double work shift the number of cylinders that are filled in the plants doubles and supplies the collection centers, "Ramirez said.
It should be noted that these collection centers are administered by the Communal Councils, to ensure that the service distribution of gas cylinders reaches the regulated price by the Bolivarian Government and decreases the over pricing of these ones.
"We are pushing forward the line drawn by President Chavez, to give power to the people on public services, in this case an important service like gas, Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), is put into place to solve one of the serious problems we have like the selling of bottles at the end of the distribution chain in the hands of the so-called shelves where people speculates the prices, that is why we have created 2380 communal shelves in control of Communal Councils to distributed the cylinders directly "added minister Rafael Ramirez.
He said that in Táchira state already have been installed 51 communal shelves from a 248 total, to accelerate improvement in the distribution service: "the Venezuelan government through PDVSA Communal Gas took control of a major factory of gas cylinders in Guarenas which had been abandoned by its owner, 30,000 bottles are produced there monthly, which allows us to have the bottles available and increase our fleet for the service to get where it has to go” he said.
"In the 39 plants the “vencedores” from the Mission Ribas who went to study gas engineering in Algeria will be taking part, to ensure the operation of the plants and that those operations are carried out in the best possible way," said Minister Rafael Ramírez.
