PDVSA East Refining optimizes its processes in the Marine Terminal Guaraguao

Puerto La Cruz.-Petróleos de Venezuela Refining East, through the Management of Crude and Products Movement (MCYP) and Maintenance Management, replaced the defenses that are located in  Pier 7 Storage and  Shipping Guaraguao Terminal (SSGT), the defense system of the pier  prevents direct contact between ships and civil structures of cement and it dampens forces generated at the time of berthing of vessels.

Defenses have a capacity of 150 thousand tons, they  allow  the handling of vessels up to 235 meters in length, and it ensures reliable and timely management of 4.5 million barrels of oil that are released monthly through pier  7 (SSGT).
These works are part of preventive maintenance that contributes to the stable operation of the business as one of the strategic axes proposed by the General Manager of the refinery complex in 2010, ensuring greater effectiveness in water operations.

These tasks should be executed under the highest safety standards, with the support of a highly trained team that achieved the planned raising of the crane and barge use for assembly and mounting of new equipment, succeeding at work in a timely manner without major impacts to the system.

PDVSA continues to respond as a reliable supplier of hydrocarbons, positioning itself at the forefront of energy with the use of new equipment to provide a safe and high quality to supply the domestic and international markets.
