Caracas-. In the framework of the deliberations prior to the VII Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), to be held this Saturday, March 2, Venezuela marks its presence with the attendance of the Minister of Petroleum, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, who is already in Algiers, Algeria.

Minister Tellechea, also president of PDVSA, has expressed through his official account on the Social Network X, @TellecheaRuiz: "With great expectation, we arrived in Algiers for the 26th Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the GECF. It is an opportunity to highlight Venezuela's vast gas potential and its key role in the global energy transition."

In his participation in the 26th Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, the Minister of Petroleum, Pedro Rafael Tellechea thanked the government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria for its willingness and hospitality in hosting this meeting.

In his speech, Minister Tellechea analyzed: "the energy markets are going through a complex situation, which, to a great extent, is created by anti-market measures and unilateral coercive measures imposed by some imperial countries against energy exporting countries".

"This event unites us as important energy supplier countries, whose importance is vital for the social and economic development of the peoples of the world. Energy security is fundamental for the functioning of modern society, therefore, the crisis in energy markets has an impact on the economy and social stability."

The head of the national energy portfolio emphasized that "from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons have been placed at the service of humanity for the development of the peoples, within the framework of respect and a win-win relationship".

He also emphasized that: "The unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Government of the United States against our countries have affected a series of projects for the strengthening of the gas industry, however, a way has been found to overcome the obstacles and to recover our oil and gas industry in a sustainable manner".

"To conclude, the Gas Exporting Countries Forum is currently called to become a globally relevant agent for the energy sector, positioning itself as an influential actor for the establishment and stability of energy around the world. To this end, Venezuela respectfully proposes that consideration be given to promoting the Gas Forum in an organization of gas exporting countries, for the stability of prices required by our world markets", he concluded.

Under Venezuela's leadership, the GECF seeks to consolidate the position of natural gas on the international scene. The forum has the participation of permanent members such as Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Equatorial Guinea, Iran, Libya, Nigeria, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, and observers such as Angola, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique and Peru.

The biennial GECF Summit is a crucial event to discuss the future of the natural gas market and formulate strategies to maximize the benefits of this resource for the people. This vision is driven by Venezuela, represented by Minister Tellechea, in alignment with the policies of President Nicolás Maduro Moros.
