Punto Fijo.- Mr. Tareck El A issami, Economy Sectorial Vice-presidente and People's Minister of Petroleum stated that PDVSA guarantees operational continuity from Paraguaná's Refining Center and oil production needed, although the terrorist attack perpetrated against Plant 4 at the refinery in Amuay.

The statement was made from Falcón State, and details were given about the terrorist attempt perpetrated last Tuesday October 27th, denounced by Mr. Nicolás Maduro, President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, last Wednesday October 28th, during a press conference with international media.

Mr. Maduro explained that Plant 4 in Amuay refinery is one of the units with most operational reliability. Moreover, it produces VGO, a necessary component to produce gasoline; For this reason, the blast caused in this plant is a new terrorist attack against the oil industry.

"Although this vile action by some terrorist groups linked to right-wings extremist, we are going to guarantee operational continuity at the Refining Center (CRP) (CR in English) and gasoline production; Not only national demand is being produced, We are over national consumption and we are saving our strategic reserves or inventories, we have a strategic reserve for 20 days", said Mr. El Aissami.

In this sense, he stressed that the country has enough fuel to face "any kind of actions from the right-wing extremists or any terrorist group willing to destabilize Venezuelan people's  peace, quietness and calm".

The Sectorial Vice-President to the Economy area stated that "gasoline will continue being produced by our workers in our refineries and we go forward, no one will stop us. These actions make us stronger and commit ourselves even further to keep on moving towards the final liberation of our homeland", said he.

El Aissami thinks that the perpetrators of the terrorist attempt against Amuay Plant 4 are enemies of Venezuela.

"On behalf of the Bolivarian Government and the oil working class, we reject this new unfortunate action and this attack against one of the main plants at CRP.", said Mr. El Aissami. He also emphasized that, although those attacks,"PDVSA moves forward to a powerful destiny, which allows us to meet the needs of our people and produce the necessary resources for our national development".

The Research begins

The Minister of Petroleum announced the creation of a Technical Research Committee to determine where the missile was launched from, which hit Plant 4 of Amuay Refinery.

"There is evidence of a blast with an impact front and inner and outer projection; According to their thickness and dimension, the steel plates determine the magnitude of the blast. We presume a distance missile was used, possibly launched from a drone or a vessel", said he.

El Aissami said that this terrorist attack is linked to a series of previous facts, one of them related to the detention of a North American citizen who, by the time of his detention, on September 11th, 2020, carried an AT4 grenade launch-type weapon, C4 explosive material, satellite phones, among other war weapons.

Likewise, lately these weeks 87 attacks against the electric system have been detected in Falcón state which also feed CRP, as well as sabotages to the hydric systems linked to Amuay and Cardón refineries, aiming to affect  the industrial services necessary to guarantee operations in the refining center.

El Aissami pointed out that this plant, recovered by the oil working class, was in a maintenance preventive phase to be started in the next few hours, and it was foreseen to significatively increase the necessary gasoline production.

Moreover, he recalled that such a terrible actions is part of a chain of sabotaje events against one of the main industries in the country, in the framework of unilateral and illegal economic sanctions imposed by the United States against our country.

Finally, he stated that "violence will find in us a dignity and moral fortress wall.  It will find us all united:  The Bolivarian Army Force (FANB), the Venezuelan people and the oil working class, to move forward the total recovery of our powerful industry".
