Caracas.- During the presentation of 2019 Report and Annual Account, held before the National Constituent Assembly (ANC in Spanish), president Nicolás Maduro issued a mandatory decree of immediate implementation related to the sale of 4.5 millions of oil barrels in Petros. The barrels come from the physical certified reserve of 30 millions of barrels currently owned by Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA).
Likewise, Mr. Maduro instructed Mr. Manuel Quevedo, president of the oil state company that, after selling these 4.5 millions of barrels, a regular offer of 50 thousand barrels a day must be made in Petros as a start, until reaching the goal of selling the whole oil production in Petros.
Another decreed issued relates to the selling from PDVSA in Petros of gasoline for international destiny planes, through Petro card, in convertible currencies (Dollars, Euros, Yuan, Rupiah and Roubles.
Mr. Maduro also said that the consolidation of the Petro is a solution to Venezuelan people. “We are getting ready for a second stage towards a more efficient use of the Crypto-currency”, he said.
Strategic Alliances
On the other hand, the Head of State said that thanks to alliances with domestic and foreign companies, “we have moved forward slowly but significantly towards production recovery. This can be seen in the oil recovery from September until now, with over 230 thousand additional barrels which place us in the horizon of one million barrels”.
Likewise, he said that oil production should be of at least 2 million barrels a day for year 2020.
He asked for the support of the working class and domestic and foreign companies and investors in order for Venezuela to recover its whole oil productive capacity. “Let’s place that wealth to achieve, leverage and balance the economy and for social protection to our people, with the view to open new investment paths. We must generate alternate wealth besides oil and overcome rent-seeking to achieve a new economy”, said he.
Policy Stabilitity Recovery
During his speech, constitutional president Nicolás Maduro stressed the efforts made by the Bolivarian Revolution to face the economic war led by the right-wing parties and the North American empire.
Amidst adversities, Mr. Maduro referred the achievements made on social, housing, education, food and health fields, as well as plans to protect economy war victims.
He recalled the importance to keep an agenda to recover political stability and defeat those who affect it, as during year 2019 the Venezuelan people have faced the hardest circumstances ever.
“Much damage has been infringed to us, but social model remains and continues within a scenario of restrictions of currency income, sanctions, savage theft of good belonging only to the Venezuelan people. Our social model has been tasted and we succeeded”, said Mr. Maduro.
The Head of State took over the important commitment of retaking economic growth path to satisfy Venezuelan people, as well as the re-launching of Petrocaribe in the framework of the new Peace Bolivarian Diplomacy.
