Starting up of Petrolera Sinovensa’s expansion plant first stage

Barcelona.- Mr. Manuel Quevedo, People’s Minister of Petroleum and president of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), implemented the starting-up of the first expansion stage of 165 barrels a day (MBD) at Jose Mixing Plant (PMJ in Spanish), located in José Antonio Anzoátegui Industrial Complex (CIJAA).

Mrs. Stella Lugo, Protector of Anzoátegui state, participated in the tour, in which the first sample of diluted crude oil was taken from the Carabobo block in Morichal Field, located in Orinoco Oil Belt Hugo Chávez (FPO in Spanish).

Presently, this work has an advance of 85%; 100% finished in PMJ and 80% in Morichal, under the supervision of Sinovensa Joint Venture, attached to the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation (CVP in Spanish); It is being made along with its partner, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).

Among the important steps to be achieved when finishing PMJ expansion, there are: Increasing the processing capacity of extra-heavy crude oil production, diluents recovery (Naphtha), and Merey Blend 16° API crude oil production.

The entourage headed by Minister Quevedo, Mrs. Stella Lugo and the main regional authorities, was also accompanied by a large representation of oil workers who welcomed the starting up of this transcendental achievement of the Venezuelan energy industry.
Mr. Albert Bockh, president of the Petrolera Sinovensa and vice-president of CVP was present, along with Mr. Wang Yinxi, General Manager of Petrolera Sinovensa.

Minister Manuel Quevedo was accompanied by the labor force of the oil company, and assured that “through these investments, PDVSA is at the forefront of big oil companies at world level”, and at the same time, he expressed that “this is a work from Hugo Chávez, our visionary Supreme Commander, when he made his first travel to China and saw in the Asian giant a future market for the Venezuelan oil”.

On her side, Mrs. Stella Lugo, protector of Anzoátegui state, said that “the alliances between Venezuela and China have made important achievements to strengthen both nations sinergy for the wellbeing of their peoples”.

Thanks to the excellent bilateral relations between the Asian giant and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, established by the Revolutionary Government of Commander Hugo Chávez and maintained by our president Nicolás Maduro, our nation will obtain a larger currency income in order to encourage social investment to the benefit of the Venezuelan people.
