Minister Quevedo: The world needs a balanced oil market

Minister Quevedo denounced once more “the claim of the White House intending to take hold of Citgo Company”.

Nueva Delhi.- Manuel Quevedo, People’s Minister of Petroleum and  president of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), assured that “humankind  needs a world balanced oil market for the development of peoples”. 

Within the framework of the 13th edition of Petro Tech Conference and Exhibition , in which Mr. Narendra Modi, First Minister of India is also participating, Minister Quevedo told journalists that Venezuela has the largest oil reserve in the planet, drilled by the Venezuelan state, but that national and international private investments are also welcome.


Minister Quevedo took advantage of the moment to reiterate that Caracas rejects illegal and unilateral illegal sanctions imposed by the United States against President Nicolas Maduro’s constitutional government.

Minister Quevedo denounced once more “the claim of the White House intending to take hold of Citgo Company”.

Moreover, Mr. Quevedo informed that the Venezuelan oil, not reaching the United States due to its government’s arbitrary decisions, has already purchasers who will buy it.

India & OPEC

At the same time, Minister Quevedo informed that the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has excellent relations with India, a country to which more than 300 oil barrels a day are sent.

Minister Quevedo held a bilateral encounter with Mr. Dharmendra Pradha, his oil and natural gas homologue from India, in order to deepen energy strategies of both nations.

Likewise, Minister Quevedo met with oil companies from India with the view to consolidate joint production efforts upon a win-win relation.
