San Nicolás Refinery in Aruba will process over 200 MBD of crude oil in the Orinoco Oil Belt

Aruba. - Mr. Manuel Quevedo, People’s Power Minister of Petroleum and president of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), inspected San Nicolás Refinery in the Subsidiary Citgo, located in Aruba Island, in order  to review the project and turn the facilities into an oil upgrader, with a capacity to process over 200 thousand barrels of extra-heavy oil a day (MBD), from Hugo Chávez Orinoco Oil Belt.

Minister Quevedo, along with Mr. Asdrúbal Chávez, president of Citgo and Mr. Carlos Mata Figueroa, Venezuelan Consul in Aruba Island, held a meeting with first minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, in order to reactivate Aruba Refinery and strengthen growing and investing plans, with the view to continue with the expansion plans via Petrocaribe.
 
Likewise, Minister Quevedo held a meeting with the refinery working class to evaluate the implementation of the Gas Natural Project, through the interconnection of Venezuela with Aruba.  

The president of PDVSA stated that these plans are a part of the integrating vision of the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez, and that they represent the main strength of the National Economic Recovery Plan, boosted by President Nicolás Maduro.
 
He also highlighted the strategic vision of San Nicolás Refinery and its proximity to Venezuela, as well as the link with the rest of the Caribbean, expressing that PDVSA will continue to reinforce each of its businesses to guarantee oil production towards the country development.
