Minister Quevedo promotes Strategic alliances in Eastern Production

Maturín.- With the view to move forward the Recovery Plan of PDVSA and build a strong business relationship, Manuel Quevedo, People’s Minister of  Petroleum and President of Pétroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) met with representatives of companies which provide services to the Executive Direction of Eastern Production, in order to keep strengthening  those projects related to crude oil and gas.

The meeting held at Eastern Production administrative headquarters, in Maturín, Monagas State, was attended by Minister Manuel Quevedo, Nelson Ferrer, Vice President of Exploration and Production; Rafael Urdaneta, Vice President of Corporación Venezolana de Petróleo (CVP); María Vera, Eastern Production Executive Director; Gabriela Bejarano, Deputy Director, and other  important representatives of this strategic business which represents a significant contribution to crude oil daily barrel production.

Minister Quevedo stressed the importance of the Economic Emergency Decree  Nº 3368, published in Official Gazette Nº 41376, dated April 12th, 2018,  through which a Special and Transitional Regime for PDVSA is created, aimed at speeding up all procedures related to public contracting. In this sense, he also pointed out that it is necessary to set a new order which allows the acceleration of processes and put an end to the bureaucratic procedures.

He also thanked the entrepreneurs for their presence in this meeting and for their support to the industry initiatives. “You are the engine of direct employment and are devoted to your employees, but you also generate many indirect employments. You are the activators of the regional and national economy”, he stated.
At the same time, he urged Eastern Production Managers to keep on being pro-active in all the processes involved.

With the view to advance in the economic development of the country, the Minister insisted on the need to take extraordinary measures, with the support of all the oil company workers. Hence, the importance of issuing a decree to implement new planned and organized actions, given the economic situation of the country, and taking into account that PDVSA “is in the eye of an attack by the United States, a political attack towards President Nicolás Maduro”.

The minister stated that “all we are proposing in this phase of the Industry cannot be possible without the participation of the oil workers. It is a project of expansion and new alliances, based on ethic and values”.
