CIJAA.- The People’s Ministry of Petroleum, through Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) and the company Petro San Felix, delivered the first shipment of petroleum coke to the Republic of Turkey, within the framework of the energy cooperation agreements signed with Turkey’s state company Turkish Petroleum International Company (TPIC).

54,000 metric tons of petroleum coke were loaded on the SBI Perseus ship with Liberian flag, at the Solids Handling Terminal of Petro San Félix Upgrader, located in the José Antonio Anzoátegui Industrial Complex (CIJAA), northern Anzoátegui state.

The petroleum coke shipment to Turkey was instructed within the framework of the 2nd Joint Commission held in Ankara, in October 2017. To accelerate the process, a multidisciplinary committee was created chaired by Vice Minister of Refining and Petrochemicals, Mauricio Herrera.

A window is now open for more joint projects and the strengthening of trade and political relations, as Venezuela demonstrates broad and productive relations with the peoples of the world, under the principles of equality, sovereignty and complementarity, consistent with the Homeland Plan Act’s third historical objective, while boosting exports and operations of Venezuela’s main industry.
