Puerto La Cruz. Puerto La Cruz Refinery of Petróleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) successfully completed maintenance and safe start-up with 465,146 labor hours and no disabling accidents.

There were 138 days with no incidents at the Atmospheric Distillation and Medium Conversion units, 136 days at the Boilers area, and 71 days at Hydroprocessing.

527 highly qualified workers, mindful of industrial safety issues and committed to PDVSA, Venezuela, and the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez achieved this operational milestone. The Anzoátegui state refinery processes and ships products such as 95 and 91octane gasoline, jet and diesel fuels.

Environmental plan

A plan was implemented for the proper and timely disposal of waste during and after maintenance, complying with Venezuelan environmental regulation and the 5th Strategic Objective of the Homeland Plan Act.

1,933 tons were recycled from the disposal of 100% of non-hazardous domestic type waste and materials, specifically ferrous scrap, which will be used for the manufacturing of rebar and other materials that the refinery regularly contributes for public social programs.

Residues such as sulfur, leather, textiles, and absorbent material were stored in an environmentally safe manner in spaces arranged for this purpose by the refinery.
