PDVSA started the laying of flexible lines for reactivating 650 oil wells at Lake Maracaibo

Ciudad Ojeda.- Vicepresident of planning Ricardo Menendez, along with President of Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA) Eulogio Del Pino and workers of PDVSA Occidente made a joint visit to several oil installations at Lake Maracaibo, Zulia State, including the Well LL-1334 belonging to Tia Juana Lago Production Unit, in order to inspect the laying of a crude and gas-lift flow lines.

The scope of this project includes the supply of flexible pipes, the identification of oil wells and surface management, as well as downhole monitoring with 0.092” wire with the aim to ensure the full production of significant oil deposits.

These actions include the producing intervention to 650 oil wells belonging to Lago Division Production Unit.

This plan is the successful outcome of a strategic alliance between PDVSA and Chinese oil company Kerui.

Ricardo Menendez assured this plan will help to increase the average oil production of Zulia State up to 60 thousand barrels of crude per day. Also, Menendez stressed this alliance is part of the productive-political agenda derived from a strong strategic relationship held with China.

Likewise, Eulogio Del Pino highlighted the courage, bravery and dignity of PDVSA working class which is deeply committed with all these strategic projects run by the Venezuelan Revolutionary Government faithfully represented by President Nicolas Maduro.

“This is the first of more than 600 oil wells to be connected through flexible pipes technology in a rate of 8 wells per day in order to increase efficiency and productivity of our operations at Lake Maracaibo. It is important to emphasize the participation in this project of a significant sector of Venezuelan Business sector committed with the harmonious development of our Nation, along with our Chinese partners and others State organizations as Military Limited Company of Petroleum, Gas and Mining Enterprises (Camimpeg, as in Spanish)”, Del Pino said.

Additional benefits of this project are a reduction of minimal production times and a fully empowerment of the natural gas network.

This project contemplates the manufacturing and installation of wells berths and downhole monitoring with 0.092” wire. Neighboring communities have been incorporated in order to achieve it, which has contributed to reduce unemployment levels in the region by generating 300 jobs.
